WARRANTY AND REPAIR PROGRAM

VR Technology’s return policy for our range of dive computers is to replace the returned computer with a refurbished model within 3 days of us receiving your old one. The replacement computer you will receive will be of similar or slightly better condition or age. Units that are still within the 12 month warranty period may be replaced with a new unit.

We strongly recommend that you look at the FAQ section of our website - http://www.technologyindepth.com/vrsupport.html  before you send your computer back to us.

Below are common symptoms and solutions. Please check that the problems you are having do not relate to any of these before thinking about sending your computer back to us.

Symptom Fault Try this first...
Not turning on Low battery Fit new battery
Battery fitted round the wrong way +ve should be facing into the VR. -ve to the cap
Battery stuck in the cap Replace with battery of the correct diamater so it moves freely on the spring
Broken switch Remove both switches and inspect/replace
Corroded battery contacts Remove the battery cap and clean the spring/contact
Loosing information Battery stuck in the cap Replace with battery of the correct diamater so it moves freely on the spring
Corroded battery contacts Remove the battery cap and clean the spring/contact
Lose battery cap Check battery cap is screwed right in/spring is making contact with the battery
Diving on surface/not diving Covered depth transducer hole Make sure the hole on the rear of the VR is not covered (do not put anything in the hole)
Short battery life Broken switch Remove both switches and inspect/replace
Corroded battery contacts Remove the battery cap and clean the spring/contact

 

Cost of Refurbishments

Your VR dive computer will be replaced with a model of the same specification or better. The cost of the refurbished computer is £150 + VAT and shipping. This price is only available if you return your old computer. If the externals of your returned computer are beyond use then an extra cost will be incurred.

Upgrades

Sending your computer in for an upgrade is still the same, you will receive a fully tested refurbished computer with the upgrade installed. Please contact us for pricing. This is for upgrades that need to be done at the factory (HD for example). If you require a Pin for your computer then that will still be given by email.

(The NHeO computer is new and will be added to the matrix when we pass the warranty expiration date of the first units)

 

About refurbishments

Your returned dive computer will be replaced with a refurbished model of the same or better condition. VR Technology’s refurbished dive computers undergo a stringent refurbishment process prior to being offered for sale or exchange. While only some units are returned due to technical issues, all units undergo VR Technology’s stringent quality refurbishment process.

Each Refurbished Product:

  • Is fully tested
  • Is refurbished with replacement parts for any defective modules identified in testing.
  • Is put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection.
  • Is placed into a Final QA inspection prior to being added to refurbished stock.
  • Comes with a warranty
  • Comes with the same pins installed as the computer you sent in

The refurbished computer you receive will come with a 3 month Warranty

 

Things to remember

Please return your proof of purchase with your dive computer if requiring a warranty replacement

Remember to download any dive logs from the computer you are returning, and remove any lanyards or special straps etc you wish to keep

VR Technology Ltd will not take any responsibility for any data or unit customisation lost when sending a VR computer in for replacement
